By James Agberebi: Former MFM striker Stephen Odey scored his first goal for FC Zurich but it was not enough as they lost 2-1 at home to Luzern in the Swiss top flight on Sunday.

The game was Odey’s second start for FC Zurich since joining them from Nigeria Professional Football League club MFM in 2017.

Christian Schneuwly broke the deadlock when he put Luzern 1-0 on 11 minutes.

Odey drew Zurich level in the 24th minute but on 37 minutes, Stefan Knezevic scored what was the winner for Luzern.

Following the loss, Zurich are now third on 28 points, nine points behind leaders Young Boys in the 10-team Swiss first division.
