By Johnny Edward: A first-half brace from Djibril Dianessy secured a seventh straight win in the Dutch second division for Sunday Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard who defeated Jong Ajax 2-1 to maintain top spot in the Eerste Divisie League on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
Fortuna Sittard, coached by ex-Nigeria captain and manager Oliseh, now have 44 points from 20 league games. NEC Nijmegen are in second place with 43 points from 19 games.
Dianessy scored in the 11th and 20th minute to give Fortuna Sittard a two-goal lead into the break before Darren Sidoel scored a late goal for Jong Ajax in the 73rd minute of the encounter that produced six yellow cards.
Fortuna Sittard’s last league defeat was a 1-0 loss to Cambuur on November 17, 2017.
The Limburg side have recorded consecutive league wins over RKC Waalwijk, Den Bosch, Utrecht II, Go Ahead Eagles, Helmond Sport, PSV II and Jong Ajax in their last seven league games.
Fortuna Sittard face Dordrecht next Friday in their next game.
